At United Gymnastics Academy, we understand that starting gymnastics can bring plenty of questions. Whether you’re enrolling your child for the first time or exploring everything we offer, here’s a guide to our most frequently asked questions.
1. What Programs Do You Offer?
We offer a variety of programs tailored to every age and interest:
- Parent & Tot: Perfect for toddlers who are just starting to explore movement with their parents by their side.
- Preschool Gymnastics: Focused on building coordination, confidence, and foundational gymnastics skills.
- Girls Gymnastics: Skill-based classes on bars, beam, floor, and vault.
- Boys Gymnastics: Strength-focused gymnastics for boys, incorporating rings, parallel bars, and more.
- Ninja: High-energy classes combining gymnastics, obstacle courses, and freestyle movement.
- Tumbling: Focused on floor skills like cartwheels, backbends, and flips.
2. Can My Child Try a Class Before Committing?
Yes! We offer trial classes so your child can experience gymnastics and see if it’s a good fit before you commit to a full session. You can stop by the front desk or contact us to schedule a trial class!
3. How Can I Sign My Child Up?
You’ve got three super-easy ways to register your child:
- Hop onto our Parent Portal to browse classes, pick the perfect one, and get signed up in just a few clicks!
- Stop by the front desk, and our friendly team will happily help you find the right class.
- Give us a call at 407-366-1014—we’d love to chat and make the process quick and stress-free!
4. How Do I Know What Level to Sign Them Up For?
We start all new students in our basic introductory classes, such as Preschool, Level 1: Foundations Gymnastics, Boys Level 1, or Beginner Tumbling, to ensure they build a strong foundation. If your child has previous gymnastics experience, they’re welcome to stop in for an evaluation. This will help our coaches assess their skills and determine the best level for them to progress in. We’re here to make sure they’re in the right class to continue growing!
5. What Should They Wear?
Comfortable, stretchy clothing works best!
- T-shirts and shorts.
- Leggings or athletic wear.
- Leotards (optional but recommended for girls).
Hair should be tied back, and jewelry should be removed for safety.
6. What Happens If My Child Misses a Class?
If your child misses a class, no worries! We offer make-up classes, which can be scheduled during any open class with availability. You can request a make-up through your parent portal, stop by the front desk, or give us a call to schedule!
7. How Does Progress Work in Your Classes?
Progress is unique to each child, and we’re here to cheer them on every step of the way! Our coaches work closely with each student, supporting them as they develop new skills at their own pace. Every little milestone is celebrated, and we love keeping parents in the loop with occasional progress updates sent right to your inbox!
8. How Does Payment Work?
At our gym, families are enrolled in automatic monthly payments for their class tuition. This means you’ll be charged once a month for your child’s classes, ensuring their spot is secured without the hassle of manual payments. The monthly tuition will continue to be processed automatically until you decide to cancel the class. If you ever need to make changes or cancel, simply let us know, and we’ll be happy to assist!
9. Do You Offer Extra Camps, Clinics, or Open Gyms?
We offer extra camps, clinics, and special events throughout the year, such as Ninja Nights, Parents’ Nights Out, skill clinics, and more! We also have a consistent open gym schedule during the school year (subject to change over the summer), which includes:
- Preschool (Ages 6 & Under): $5
